To assist the Director and Assistant Director in daily operations of the Department as it pertains to Environmental Planning by performing a variety of routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional services involving development and implementation of County land use policies, plans codes and programs.
Knowledge of zoning and subdivision laws, and comprehensive planning documents including their formation, process of adoption and enforcement; extensive knowledge of planning programs and processes; basic knowledge of land use law and environmental law as it affects land use; basic knowledge of geometry and statistics is necessary to be successful in this position.
Knowledge of wetland indicator species, hydric soil characteristics and Critical Area laws with the ability to interpret ordinances is preferred.
The ability to communicate effectively with architects, contractors, developers, owners, supervisors, employees and the general public; ability to establish effective working relationships; ability to interpret ordinances is also necessary to be successful in this position.
HS/GED with degree from accredited four year college/university in land use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture, geography, environmental planning or closely related field.
One (1) or more years of work experience or college related experience in land use planning, urban planning, environmental planning, landscape architecture or geography.
